Classic English shoes.

In pursuit of elegance, each pair of slipper, shoe and boot is hand-sewn with a concern for good looks and comfort, true to the spirit of bespoke shoe making which has emerged from London for so long.

Born in the French town of La Réole, it was travel which as many shoemakers before me, led me to discover the gentle craft in the British capital, the second place of my origins.

The art of making shoes by hand takes interest in its history and the pursuit of style.

With respect for this, I personally make each pair of shoes and all of its associated components from the very finest materials, informed by London’s West End traditions. I favour attention to quality and character above all in the products I make, an attempt to grasp the distinct spirit of classic English footwear.

Rather than pursue innovation, the shoes I create seek the continuity and betterment of this workmanship which has remained set in its techniques for the last 400 years.

A direct contact with craftsmen and women of which my great grandfather André Capdeboscq was a member. His name from the patois Cap de boy (“Tête de bois”) denoting the stubborn character of his lineage, lives on in my own refusal to compromise, in search of shoes which will satisfy ideals and the feet of those who wear them.

Thank you for taking an interest in the gentle craft,

William Efe-Laborde
